A Weekend of Haitian Pride, Music & Stories: Celebrating OUR VODOU with Malou Beauvoir at Haitian Ladies Weekend 2026

What a memorable weekend in Washington, D.C.!
I was delighted to perform during the weekend's celebrations, including opening the 20th Signature Brunch with the Haitian national anthem. It was a meaningful moment to celebrate our heritage alongside such an inspiring community.

I was equally honored to be selected as one of four featured new authors for Dr. Solanges Vivens' Author's Corner, where I introduced the latest addition to my children's book series, OUR VODOU — Book 2: Haiti, Land of Mountains.
Thank you to the Haitian Ladies Network, the organizers, and everyone who stopped by to connect, listen, and discover the books!

Why I created OUR VODOU ....
In these challenging times when over 350 000 Haitians holding a TPS (Temporary Protected Status) visa in the United States, are being threatened with deportation and falsely labeled as criminals, I believe it is important to counter the false narrative surrounding Haiti and her customs. I believe our children deserve stories that remind them about the richness of their heritage.
Through OUR VODOU, my hope is to make Haitian history and ancestral traditions more accessible to children and families, while encouraging curiosity, cultural pride, and respectful understanding of Vodou, a tradition that is so often misunderstood.
Every new book brings us one step closer to that mission.
